We’re hiring Business Operations Associates / Analysts to help us run and scale Heron’s internal operations across finance, people, strategy and planning, and special projects.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a sharp and ambitious generalist to take ownership of internal operations at Heron. From day one, you’ll be hands-on: running processes across finance and hiring, improving how we operate, and helping us solve high-priority internal problems.
You’ll work directly with the founders and cross-functional team members on everything from day-to-day execution to special projects and planning. If something is broken, slow, or unclear — we’ll expect you to dive in and fix it.
Longer-term, depending on your interests, this role can grow into a broader leadership path — whether that’s in strategy, operations, finance, or another function. We see this as a career-launching role for someone who wants to learn how a company really works, and make it better.
What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on role focused on internal operations. Examples of what you might do:
- Own, improve and eventually hand-off key business processes (e.g. in finance, hiring, people operations)
- Build and maintain systems - dashboards, templates, automations - to help us operate more effectively
- Help the founders and leadership ‘run the business’ - tracking our progress vs. goals and deciding whether we need to change course or reprioritize
- Work on special projects, like building new capabilities/ functions in the business, or deciding which customer segment we should target next
What We’re Looking For
We expect that strong candidates will come from one or more of the following backgrounds:
- Ex-consultant or banker who wants more ownership, impact, and variety than slide decks and models
- Startup operations generalist who has done this type of work before - working across different parts of a business to run things and make them better
